BASED ON A TRUE-ISH STORY
Using his own unrealised screenplays as a starting point, Ward's images combine personal stories, scripted dialogue and sketches to present a new context for the work in a printmaking form.

Working mostly in classic cinematic aspect ratios (16:9 & 4:3) this series focuses particularly on real-ish locations and scenes of personal importance, where the removal of information often presents an unresolved scene, which encourages a collaboration with the viewer.
Charlie Ward is a writer and artist working in painting and printmaking. His work explores context, texture, composition, memory and absence of details. Using source materials such as sketchbooks, personal writings, photographs and biography he works through a series of drawings before progressing to a final image which he hopes will give you slightly less information than you need.
